I never cease to be amazed at the variety of shapes and sizes I have found in Santa figurines.

I am also amazed at the length of the hat of the on dressed in red velvet.

My very favourite Santa is the guy with a bell.

In front of him is my heaviest Santa … Santa Rock!

Yep a painted rock!

This gift was placed very gently onto my lap wrapped in a ham bag!

There is also Frog Santa! Another gift which causes great merriment every year

The tree was totally decorated with Santas.

I am taking a Christmas holiday … or holiday from Christmas.

Will be back at the end of April, unless I like the holiday enough to stay away from home for longer!

SOME CHRISTMAS CARTOONS TO LIGHTEN AND BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY!

The Shelf Elf was hand made by a potting friend.

He is so ugly and cute!

Love the Scottish Santa too, not to mention the brass reindeer.

This is what happens when someone who designs a range of rag dolls is someone who also makes lots of Christmas decorations.

Every doll ‘family’ I created had at least one Santa added to the family.

This particular family had three Santas!

It worked in reverse too … some ‘families’ started when I designed a Santa!

One reason for not sewing buttons back onto shirts.

Cut a sheet of A4 paper into eight rectangles, fold each rectangle in halves and cut out a butterfly shape.

I fluked the first one, then wasted a sheet of paper before I started getting reasonable shapes, cutting each freehand so they are all different.

Use assorted size round hole punches to add a few holes before unfolding the paper.

You can laminate eight at a time, maybe more!

Or use thin card and they won’t need laminating.

I am working on getting enough made to decorate a three foot tree!

Just butterflies and lights, and something for the tree top!

Fairy with butterfly wings perhaps.

These were all the craze a few years ago .. made with 60 degree triangles.

I had to make mine from taller triangles.

They have provided homes for some gorgeous mini decorations, a pair of ear rings and two brooches.

I guess Father Christmas/Santa has to come down the flue for the combustion heater.

At least there is no fire this time of the year in Australia.

I think he is trying to hide on the tree.

A stick, some bent bits of wire, some paper scraps glued onto cardboard and a bunch of raffia.

Rustic!
