Hanging Cards

Sort cards into groups of three to six by size, theme, style or colour.

Glue front to back using glue stick.

Use a needle to punch a hole in each corner of the cards about half an inch from the edges except the bottom card ….. only punch holes in the top of that one.

Thread a darning needle with crochet or embroidery thread and tie a knot near the end.

Insert needle into bottom card from the back, then  insert needle into the bottom of the next card from the front.

Carry the thread across the back of the card, insert needle into opposite side from the back, then into the bottom card from the front. Pull the thread as far as possible through the cards, pulling them together, and tie a knot about an inch from the card. Cut off excess thread. Repeat the thread sequence to join more cards to the hanging.

At the top take thread from the front to the back of the card, across the back and from back to front. Fold ends of thread back on itself, and tie an overhand knot in the centre of the folded section of thread.

Hang these on door knobs, cupboard and room doors, drawer knobs and are light enough to be held by drawing pins and even dressmaking pins. On glass and tiles use hooks with suction caps.
