Star’n’Stocking Swag

I used some pieces from a fabric panel to make this door swag.

Usually hangs over an internal door during the Christmas season, with tartan bows hanging from the hooks on either side of the door.

The panel was sandwiched with wadding and backing fabric, then I stitched around the outline of the panel elements, and simply cut the shapes about a quarter inch outside the stitching line.

These shapes were machine stitched, but i have used the same idea with hand quilting stitch outlining the shapes with Perle thread.
